Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at UVA Medical Center

Collins Wing — On October 13, I spent the day at my alma mater, the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, for a truly humbling experience. A wing of the UVA Medical Center has been renamed in my honor. Taking part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony (from l – r) Pamela Sutton-Wallace, chief executive officer, UVA Health, Charlottesville; Francis Collins; UVA president James Ryan; and Vivian Pinn, former director of NIH’s Office of Research on Women’s Health and a celebrated alumnus of UVA Medical School.
