Accepting the COVID-19 Vaccine

Francis Collins Vaccination
I was thrilled to roll up my sleeve and get the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine today at the NIH Clinical Center. As NIH Director, I’ve followed closely the development of these first vaccines, and I know they have been rigorously tested and found to be safe and effective. I encourage everyone to accept the vaccines when offered to you. It’s our best chance to turn the tide on the pandemic. Also receiving the vaccine today were Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, Anthony Fauci, Director of NIH’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; Colleen McGowan, Director of NIH’s Office of Research Services; and six frontline healthcare workers at the NIH Clinical Center. Images like this showing people in positions of leadership being vaccinated, is a vital part of bringing the Covid-19 pandemic to an end. I know Dr. Collins is smiling behind his mask.

I was informed by a family member today that the Covid-19 Vaccine is made with fetal cells of aborted babies.. I have not gotten Covid-19, thank goodness but spent 7 months from April thru November 2020 fighting for my life.. No real answers but all my organs shut down and I was on Life Support and Life Flighted to a Facility in Idaho that specializes with this type of problem.. When I did wake up I was still on life support via a Trach.. My question is the medical staff it’s a miracle I lived but told me that as soon as they had a Vaccine I needed to get it due to my medical history, 3 Auto Immune Disease’s and weaken cardio Pulmonary System.. I am in a dilemma is the Vaccine going to come out that is not made with the fetal cell lines in it… I am a retired Health Professional but I do not believe in abortion and I was shocked to hear this today.. Is there anything else out there available for some one like myself… I would like some real input please. I am 61 years old and have 5 adult children, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren so I am looking for “input” as “Johnny Five” would say from the movie “Short Circuit.” Semper Paratus..

Hmm. As a Primary Care Physician who has high risk medical condition it would seem easy to get a COVID vaccine out here in tech land California but it’s every county for itself in a state with many tens of millions of people. Loved seeing this man receive the vaccine but all efforts should be steering access to receiving a possible vaccine. Looked at Tennessee Department of Health and they had it mapped out well who is eligible and how to get vaccine county by county and is updated daily. All CDC, NIH and government websites should be helping coordinate access to well made websites to inform and apply for a vaccine like this gentleman received.

2021: Private and Public Leaders/Institutions/Corporations: Pandemics requires many moving parts. Building forces to reengineer buildings, schools, universities, create supportive community public health investments, advance technology and infrastructure/logistics, human resources, transparency laws, mobilizing, execution of action plans, joint ventures among wealth foundations/leaders/committee’s, equality diversity laws enforcement of safety, protection, equipment, respect, hiring and training, competitive wages, and accessibility for communities as an intervention to transform alternative/medical care systems(private/public integrated). Positive human respect for all humans: Social, Mental, Physical, and Spiritual Health Caring. Government leaders time is now for transparency.

Thank you to everyone working to get America vaccinated. We all need to do whatever we can to encourage the implementation of mitigation measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 and to encourage vaccinations …

Is it safe to take the Covid 19 vaccination if the patient has recovered from myelitis? I am very concerned as myelitis is caused by an auto immune response. How does the vaccine respond to the immune system?

“I know they have been rigorously tested and found to be safe and effective.”

That is quite simply untrue. By definition the short timescales mean that it is impossible to know what the long-term (or even some medium-term) effects will be. Otherwise why has Pharma demanded indemnities?
